LANSING, Mich. - Riding a six-run sixth inning, the Lansing Lugnuts (20-21) brought an end to a three-game skid with an 8-3 win against the Eastern Division-leading Dayton Dragons (24-16) on Saturday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

The rally started with Dayton reliever Dan Langfield delivering a bases-loaded walk to Jorge Saez. Lefty Joel Bender relieved him, and issued back-to-back walks to D.J. Davis and Derrick Loveless to plate two more runs.

With Alejandro Chacin pitching in relief, first baseman L.B. Dantzler cleared the bases with a three-run double to left-centerfield to cap off the big inning for the Lugnuts.

Dantzler improved to 3-for-3 against Chacin in 2014, with a double, RBI triple and grand slam totaling eight RBIs.

Second baseman Justin Atkinson put Lansing ahead in the second inning with his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left off of Dayton starter Daniel Wright (Loss, 2-2).

Lansing starter Shane Dawson (W, 2-1) had his best outing of the season, pitching five two-hit, scoreless frames. He finished the night with three strikeouts and a walk.

Right-hander Alberto Tirado allowed a run in each of his three innings on four hits and three walks.

Lansing looks to split the series on Sunday afternoon at Cooley Law School Stadium with lefty Matt Dermody (2-0, 2.04) starting on the mound. Right-handed pitcher Sal Romano (3-2, 3.30) will be on the mound for Dayton.
