SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The RiverKings have another award winner on their hands, as Daniel Tedesco has been named the SPHL Warrior Player of the week. Tedesco, 25, is the third straight RiverKing forward to win the honor after Dillan Fox and Brantley Sherwood.

The Maple, Ontario, native registered nine points during the RiverKings two wins this past weekend, two goals and two assists on Friday's victory over Huntsville, and five assists in the RiverKings 12-1 beatdown of the Marksmen on Saturday. Tedesco was traded to the RiverKings from Pensacola after the first game of the season and enjoyed an extended stay in the ECHL from December to March. Since his return from the ECHL, Tedesco has rung up 19 points in nine games. For the season, the rookie has 16 goals and 17 assists in 21 games played.

Along with Fox and Sherwood, the RiverKings have earned the last three SPHL Warrior Player of the Week honors tying an SPHL record for consecutive player of the week awards, most recently achieved by Fayetteville in 2006-07.

The black and gold begin their quest for a President's Cup in the SPHL Challenge Round, starting with a home game against the Huntsville Havoc this Thursday night, April 12 at Planters Bank Ice. For tickets, visit riverkings.com/ticketmaster or call the RiverKings front office at 662-342-1755.
