
Danbury forwards Drew Omicioli and David-Alexandre Beauregard named All-Stars

DANBURY, CT-The United Hockey League (UHL) named their annual post-season All-Star Teams this afternoon and Danbury forwards Drew Omicioli and David-Alexandre Beauregard were both named to the second team.
Omicioli, 26, led the Trashers in goals and points during his first season in the United Hockey League with 87 points on a franchise-record 48 goals. His 87 points also tied Bruce Richardson for the single-season franchise mark. Prior to joining the Trashers, Drew spent three seasons in Italy and also played college hockey for Providence. His 87 points tied him for 8th overall in the UHL leaderboard, while his 48 goals ranked him 4th best.
Beauregard, 30, was acquired by the Trashers from the Roanoke Valley Vipers prior to the trade deadline. He finished the season with a combined 93 points on 41 goals in 70 games. In 14 regular season games for the Trashers, Beauregard scored 17 points on eight goals and was a plus-15. His 93 points was 5th overall in the UHL, while his 41 goals were 7th best in the United Hockey League.
Omicioli and Beauregard are the first two players in Danbury franchise history to be named to one of the post-season All-Star Teams. Defenseman Donny Grover was named to the UHL All-Rookie squad on Monday afternoon.
Danbury's playoff series against Quad City moves to Moline, Illinois for games 3-4, which will take place on Wedneday and Friday night at 8pm. Game five if necessary will take place next Saturday starting at 8pm, with all games at the MARK of the Quad Cities. Danbury is trailing the Mallards 2-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Possible games six and seven would take place at the Danbury Ice Arena on May 1st and 2nd at 7:00pm. Season tickets for the 2006-07 campaign are also currently on sale, priced at a special discount of $494 ($13/game reserved) and $570 ($15/game premium) when purchased prior to August 31st. Purchasing season tickets now also allows fans to buy the entire run of 2006 Colonial Cup Playoff games (12 total). Any portion of non-played playoff games will be used towards their balance on next year's season tickets.
