MOLINE, Ill. (March 7, 2012) - Illowa Fellowship of Christian Athletes Co-Director and former KWQC-TV sports reporter Dan Pearson will speak to church and youth groups at the Quad City Mallards' annual Faith Night this Saturday evening at the i wireless Center, the Mallards announced today.

Pearson will deliver a video presentation and inspirational message prior to the Mallards' 7:05 p.m. match-up with the Tulsa Oilers. The presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. as the Mallards welcome church groups from throughout the Quad Cities area to the i wireless Center Saturday night.

"Partnering with the Mallards is a privilege and pleasure for me. Experiencing so many wonderful moments with the Quad Cities hockey community over the years has been a genuine thrill in my career," said Pearson. "Sharing the Gospel with great friends and enjoying Mallards hockey on the same night is a great fit. I can't wait to connect with all who can attend! "

A portion of the proceeds from tickets purchased by church and youth organizations for Saturday night's game will benefit the FCA's camp scholarship program.

"We're very happy and grateful to have Dan joining us Saturday evening," said Mallards executive vice president Ryan Simmons. "Dan's positive outlook and his ability to inspire and uplift are a more than welcome addition to Faith Night."

Pearson joined the Illowa FCA last August after 29 years as television sports journalist- 24 of which were spent in the Quad Cities. Pearson not only ministers to FCA members but also produces video reports on area athletes and coaches for www.illowafca.org. Well known and highly regarded in the Quad Cities area for his work on KWQC and in particular on the station's "Highlight Zone", Pearson won a host of broadcasting honors over the course of his television career and was the first Quad Cities journalist to win a regional Emmy Award.

Founded in 1954, FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in the United States. FCA's members include coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels.
