Dallas Wings News Release
Arlington, TX - The Dallas Wings tipped of their "Youth Basketball Tour" this week visiting two local high school girls basketball games, the Burleson vs Mansfield Lake Ridge and Dallas Skyline vs Mansfield Summit game.
This year's tour is presented by The Donald Driver Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose core focus is to serve underprivileged children and families by addressing health, wellness, safety, education, and career development.
"We want to thank Donald Driver and his foundation for partnering with us on our youth basketball initiative," said Dallas Wings Senior Vice President Charles Johnson. "His vision for serving in the community goes hand-in -hand with ours, which is to give back to local communities and connect with youth throughout the metroplex by providing them a message that anything is possible through the game of basketball."
As the centerpiece of the Dallas Wings' Youth Basketball program, the Youth Basketball Tour was established with the clear mission of giving back to local communities and connecting with local girls' high school basketball programs across the DFW metroplex.
For the next six months, the Dallas Wings will travel to high schools and AAU tournaments highlighting matchups as their "Games of the Week." At each game, the Wings, their hype crew and team mascot Lightning will provide the night's in-game entertainment which includes music, interactive games, free giveaways and contests for all attendees to enjoy. Fans will also have the opportunity to win ultimate prizes like autographed Dallas Wings memorabilia and tickets for the 2019 Dallas Wings season which tips off in May.
In addition to providing the in-game entertainment, the Dallas Wings will recognize "Teams of the Week," all of which will be highlighted on DallasWings.com. The "Teams of the Week" will also receive commemorative
t-shirts provided by The Donald Driver Foundation and tickets for a Dallas Wings game where they will be recognized for their outstanding achievement.
"This is truly an exciting partnership for us at The Donald Driver Foundation," said Founder, Donald Driver. "Our organization is a team who works together, and we are proud to be part of the Dallas Wings family and partner with them on such a great initiative."
