Dallas Sidekicks News Release

Allen, Texas - The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of local Dallas native, Chris Escalera. This will be Escalera's first professional indoor season with the Dallas Sidekicks and in the MASL. Per team and league guidelines, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Escalera was born on October 10, 1995, and grew up in Dallas, Texas, and went to school in Duncanville. During his time at Duncanville High School, Escalera finished as the top goal scorer in Class 5A with 25 goals as a senior. He was also named the district's offensive MVP and was selected for the first-team all-region.

Escalera also played club soccer with the Dallas Texans. With the Texans, Escalera made five Dallas Cup appearances and advanced to the quarterfinals in 2013.

After graduating from Duncanville High School, Escalera went on to play collegiate soccer at Hill College where he played there for two seasons. In 2015, Escalera was named NJCAA Division I First Team All-American after scoring 30 goals.

Outside of Sidekicks, Escalera works for Toca Soccer Center as a football and fitness trainer.

"It means everything to me because I grew up going to the games," Escalera said when asked about what it meant for him to sign with the Sidekicks.

Watch Escalera and the rest of the Sidekicks take on the Tacoma Stars on Friday, March 3rd at 7:30 PM for Noche Caliente.
