Dallas Sidekicks News Release
DALLAS, Texas (Oct. 31, 2013) - The Central Division champion Dallas Sidekicks will begin their 2013-14 season this Saturday, November 2 at the Allen Event Center. With a 7 p.m. kickoff, the Sidekicks will get their first look at the Wichita B-52s, who are new to the PASL this year. Saturday marks the 29th home opener in Sidekicks history.
The Sidekicks have been hard at work during the offseason, looking to repeat the success the team found early last season when they won their first eight matches. Head Coach Tatu also hopes to lead the team to continue its flawless regular season record at the Allen Event Center.
"Expectations are very high for us, and we have built a talented team that is focused on winning a championship," Tatu said. "The fans made it really special for us last year and we are excited to get things going."
The Wichita B-52s are an expansion team born from the remnants of the MISL's Wichita Wings. The Sidekicks faced the Wings in the MISL from 1984-92, finishing with a 24-20 record against the team, 15-7 at home . The B-52s roster features a handful of former Wings players. Head Coach Larry Inlow is the Wings' former assistant coach and defender.
"Dallas and Wichita have a lot of history, and I expect this to be a tough challenge for us," Tatu said.
