
Dallas Mavericks Assign Yi and Williams to NBA D-League Affiliate Texas Legends

NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2012 ? The Dallas Mavericks today assigned Yi Jianlian and Sean Williams to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks? NBA D-League affiliate. The assignments mark the 19th and 20th time an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season. The assignment is the first for Yi, who was signed by Dallas earlier today, and the second for Williams this season.
Yi (7-0, 250) was the first round draft pick (sixth overall) in the 2007 NBA Draft of the Milwaukee Bucks. The 24-year old has played for three teams (Milwaukee, New Jersey and Washington) in his four-year career. He holds career averages of 8.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 24.1 minutes in 242 career games with 163 starts.
Williams (6-10, 235), who was first assigned to the Legends on Dec. 21 before being recalled to Dallas on Dec. 22, scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds in one game for the Legends. In three games with the Mavericks this season Williams averaged 4.7 points and 2.0 rebounds.
