SKYFORCE SNEAKING UP: In case you haven't been paying attention, the Sioux Falls Skyforce have made the Eastern Division a solid three-team race. While Fort Worth and Dakota, who have swapped the division lead virtually the entire season have both lost four of five, the 'Force has won four of five games to cut the lead to one.

THREE BALL: Final score from Qwest Arena on Thursday...Idaho 111, Cleaves, Pinkney and Slay 80, Bakersfield 30. Mateen Cleaves, Kevinn Pinkney and Tamar Slay combined to score 73-percent of the Jam's points as the Stampede ended Bakersfield's win streak at six games.

ASSIGNMENT UPDATE: The Memphis Grizzlies assigned forward Alexander Johnson to the Arkansas RimRockers and the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets reassigned forward Marcus Vinicius to Tulsa on Thursday. Johnson has averaged 5.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 13.9 minutes in 44 games this season for Memphis. Vinicius has averaged 1.4 points in eight games with the Hornets this season.

WHAT'S THE COUNT? There have been 21 NBA players assigned to D-League affiliates on 29 occasions this season. Twenty-six (26) NBA teams have designated 50 players to D-League affiliates 71 times since the start of the 2005-06 season.

THEY SAID IT: "He played his last basketball with me. I think about that everyday. I will hold that and hold him with me forever." ... Austin player Jamar Smith recalled to the Austin American-Statesman about a game of one-on-one he played with coach Dennis Johnson minutes before Johnson collapsed and died following a Toros practice late last week.
