
Cavaliers Assign Shannon Brown to Albuquerque

CLEVELAND, March 2, 2007 - The Cleveland Cavaliers have assigned guard Shannon Brown to the Albuquerque Thunderbirds of the NBA Development League, Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry announced today. The Thunderbirds are the D-League Affiliate for the Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns.
Brown is the 22nd NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season. Twenty-six (26) NBA teams have designated 51 players to D-League affiliates since the start of the 2005-06 season.
Brown has played in 13 games (four starts) for the Cavaliers this season and has averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 8.8 minutes per game. He posted a career-high 10 points on November 29 vs. New York. The Michigan State product was selected by Cleveland with the 25th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.
A high school teammate of Utah Jazz guard Dee Brown, prep honors for Brown included 2003 Illinois Mr. Basketball, Co-MVP of the 2003 Jordan Capital Classic (along with LeBron James) and 2003 McDonald's All-America.
