Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The NBA Development League's marquee matchup between the top two teams lived up to the hype Thursday at STAPLES Center as the visiting Idaho Stampede pulled out the 93-90 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

Idaho (26-8) expanded their lead in the Western division to 3.5 games over the D-Fenders. In a tight fought battle that saw 9 lead changes and 4 ties in the final quarter, the final lead change came on a Randy Livingston lay-up with 47.1 seconds remaining to take a 91-90 lead. Jason Ellis finished the game off with a pair of free throws.

"We made some mistakes in our execution and they were able to make plays," said D-Fenders Head Coach Dan Panaggio. "Professional games come down to crunch time and the team that executes win."

Livingston ended the night just missing a triple double, scoring a game-high 27 points while grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists. Recently reacquired forward Luke Jackson chipped in with 17 and 4 assists.

"It was an important game for both teams;" said Livingston. "We knew that coming in and we were able to leave on a solid note."

Los Angeles (22-11) was led by Sean Banks' 24 points. Stephane Lasme contributed with a double-double, recording 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks. The two teams will meet again on Sunday March 2nd, following the Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks game, with a 4:00pm scheduled tip-off.

The D-Fenders used strong defense in the second quarter, using a 21-4 run to take a 49-42 lead into the halftime break, but were unable to hang on to the lead.

On Friday, March 7th, the first 500 fans in attendance for the D-Fenders game against the Iowa Energy will receive a coupon good for one (1) FREE BURRITO courtesy of Chipotle Mexican Grill. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30pm.
