
D-Fenders Topple Stampede

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders grabbed the lead near the end of the first quarter, extended it by as many as 22 points, and did not trail for the remainder of the game en route to a 108-99 win over the Idaho Stampede on Monday night at Toyota Sports Center. Now riding a three-game win streak, the D-Fenders, who are 13-1 in their last 14 games, become the first NBA Development League team to 30 wins.
In a physical game from tip-off until the final buzzer, Los Angeles (30-11) and Idaho shot a combined 93 free-throws, including 62 by the D-Fenders (48 FTs made), who surpassed franchise single-game highs for free-throws made and attempted in a game.
Los Angeles' Jamario Moon finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and two steals, Elijah Millsap tallied 17 points, six rebounds and three steals, and Otis George added 15 points along with three steals in the win. In addition, Courtney Fortson (13 points, 6 assists, 2 steals), Zach Andrews (13 points [5-7 FG]), Malcolm Thomas (12 points, 9 rebounds) as well as Orien Greene (12 points, 6 rebounds) all finished in double-figures for the D-Fenders.
Idaho (16-25) was led by Marcus Banks, who scored a game-high 24 points and Seth Tarver, who registered 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Meanwhile, Willie Jenkins added 12 points and five rebounds, and Reginald Larry pitched in 10 points to go with two steals in the win.
The D-Fenders next play at home on Saturday, March 17th in their final meeting of the season with the Stampede. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. and the game is available for viewing online through NBA Futurecast.
