LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League were able to hold-off a late fourth quarter surge by the Tulsa 66ers to win this afternoon's game at STAPLES Center 114-106.

Los Angeles was outscored 30-24 in the final quarter, but got numerous key baskets down the stretch from forward Aloysius Anagonye. He had 7 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter.

"I thought we executed some really good plays when the game was on the line. It was a good win," said D-Fenders Head Coach Dan Panaggio.

D-Fenders guard Andre Emmett led the team with 24 points off the bench. Los Angeles forward Andre Patterson recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 18 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

The D-Fenders entire starting lineup finished the game in double figures. Los Angeles shot a solid 51% from the field and outrebounded Tulsa 44-39.

"I see a lot of improvement in this team. They are hustling and playing together really well," said Lakers Basketball Consultant Tex Winter.

Tulsa forwards Mike Hall and Desmond Farmer led the 66ers in their final comeback attempt. Hall hit 7 of his 8 three-pointers to finish the contest with 25 points. Farmer scored 14 of his 27 points in the final quarter. Tulsa guard Will Conroy dished out 15 assists for his squad.

"We didn't come out and start the game with the intensity that we needed. We played hard to get back in it, but you can't dig yourself such a big hole," said Tulsa Head Coach Joey Meyer.

The series between the two teams currently stands in the D-Fenders favor at 2-0. Los Angeles now sits at 16-15 (.516) on the season.

This weekend, D-Fenders guard Brian Chase will play in the first ever Gillette NBA Development League All-Star Game in association with 24 Hour Fitness in Las Vegas, NV. After the All-Star break, the D-Fenders will host the Arkansas RimRockers at STAPLES Center on Wednesday, February 21, before the Lakers game, with a 3:30pm tip off.

Having a Lakers ticket for a STAPLES Center home game is also your ticket to a lower level seat for the D-Fenders. Lakers season ticket holders who attend a D-Fenders home game will receive a special gift, while supplies last, by visiting the Season Ticket Holder Booth on the main concourse at the Figueroa Street Entrance.

On July 31, 2006 the Los Angeles Lakers announced that they had become the first NBA franchise in history to own an NBA Development League team. The Los Angeles D-Fenders play their home games at STAPLES Center pre and post Lakers home games. The Lakers devoted fans were given the opportunity to name the NBA D-League team in an online naming contest.
