
D-Fenders Add Cuic and McKenzie, Release Wormely and Jackson

El Segundo, CA- It was announced today that the Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired Sasha Cuic and 2008-09 returning D-Fenders player, Lawrence McKenzie. In order to keep the 10-player roster, the D-Fenders have released point guard, Horace Wormely and power forward, James Jackson.
Aleksandar "Sasha" Cuic, a 6-10 forward originally from Croatia, played three years at Oregon State University before returning to Europe to play overseas. In his final season at Oregon State, Cuic played in 29 games, averaging 11.6 points and 2.8 rebounds. In 2007, Cuic started for DTL EKA AEL Limassol (Cyprus-Division A), averaging 9.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Cuic played in the Treviso Summer League (Sanson Team) in 2008 and in 2009 played for Erdemirspor Belediyesi in Turkey.
McKenzie, a 6-2 guard, finished his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota after spending two seasons at the University of Oklahoma. With the Golden Gophers, McKenzie averaged 13.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists from 2006-08. McKenzie played 10 games with the D-Fenders in 2009 where he averaged 3.5 points and 2.1 assists per game.
