
D.C. United earns three MLS executive awards

Washington, D.C. - Major League Soccer today announced the 2008 MLS Executive Award winners. D.C. United's front office earned a total of eight honors this season. Aprile Pritchet and Sara Peterson (Community Relations Executive of the Year), Dan Giffin (Best XI Total Ticket Revenue) and Scott Miller (Group Ticket Sales Salesperson of the Year, Total Ticket Revenue Salesperson of the Year, Best XI Total Ticket Revenue, Best XI Group Ticket Sales, Best XI New Season Ticket Sales) were all honored for their work throughout the season. In addition, D.C. United finished first in Excellence for Season Ticket Retention. Winners were chosen in a voting process comprising team general managers, the League office and peers within respective departments.
Community Relations Executive of the Year: Aprile Pritchet and Sara Peterson In her fourth season with the team, Aprile Pritchet is responsible for creating and implementing all of D.C. United's community programs and initiatives as the Director of Community Relations. Sara Peterson has been with the team since 2006 and as Executive Director of United for D.C., she manages and oversees all aspects of the foundation's community outreach programs as well as its annual fundraisers.
Group Ticket Sales Salesperson of the Year, Total Ticket Revenue Salesperson of the Year, Best XI Total Ticket Revenue (1st), Best XI Group Ticket Sales (1st), Best XI New Season Ticket Sales (6th): Scott Miller
In his seventh year with the team, Scott Miller finished first in MLS in Total Ticket Revenue and Group Ticket Sales on his way to being named the Salesperson of the Year for both Group Ticket Sales and Total Ticket Revenue. In 2006 and 2007, he also finished first in MLS Group Ticket Sales and in was named Account Executive of the Year both times.
Best XI Total Ticket Revenue (8th): Dan Giffin Dan Giffin, who has been with the team since its first year, finished among League leaders in Total Ticket Revenue. The senior account executive has been among League sales leaders on numerous occasions during the last thirteen years.
