
D-Braves take two in Doubleheader

Danville, VA - The Danville Braves swept the doubleheader versus the Elizabethton Twins with a 4-1 win in game one and an extra-innings 6-5 win in the nightcap. There was a one hour and 45 minute rain delay in the middle of the first game.
In game one, Max Ramirez went one for two with a two RBI double to extend his hitting streak to fourteen games. Quentin Davis and Eric Campbell also went one for two in game one. Starter Todd Blackford pitched four innings allowing one run with three strikeouts. Glen Richards pitched two innings in relief for his first win of the season with a walk and two strikeouts while Rudy Quinonez pitched the top of the seventh for his ninth save of the season.
The Braves scored four runs in the first two innings of game two to take an early four run lead including a two-run double by Quentin Davis in the second inning. Quentin Davis, Eric Campbell and Jose Santos lead the Braves offense with each having two hits in the nightcap. Carlos Picornell walked in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning before Jose Santos singled to score Jon Shehan to win the game. Bryan Johnson picked up the win in relief going two innings allowing one run on three hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.
The Braves continue their home stand against the Elizabethton Twins with 7:00 pm games on Wednesday and Thursday. Virginia Lottery's Lady Luck will be at the game on Wednesday night to take pictures with fans and sign autographs.
Thursday night is Girls Night Out at the ballpark where all ladies will receive $2.00 admission to the game and have the opportunity to come into the game at 5:15 to watch batting practice and get autographs. Hot dogs will also be $1.00 for ladies all night.
