Greeneville, TN.- The Danville Braves were able to win two out of three games in Pioneer Park against the Greeneville Astros including the series finale on Thursday night. The Braves won 6-3 after scoring four runs in the first inning and getting a strong outing from their starter, Ernesto Silva.

The D-Braves scored first tonight making it eight straight games in a row they have done so. With two outs in the first inning the Braves got back-to-back singles from Brandon Drury and William Beckwith.

After Edison Sanchez walked to load the bags, Nick De Santiago did the same scoring Danville's first run. With Sam Munson batting, a wild pitch by Chris Lee scored another. Following that, Munson hit a two run single to centerfield giving the Braves a 4-0 lead. The runs batted in would be Munson's eighth and ninth of the season.

The game remained that way until the sixth inning when again with two outs Elmer Reyes hit a triple to left field. Kurt Fleming was the next batter and he hit a RBI double to right scoring Reyes easily.

Greeneville got the run back quickly in the sixth. A single, a walk, and a couple wild pitches helped advance the Astros runners so that they scored easily on a groundout to third off the bat of Jesse Wierzbicki making it 5-1. The sixth inning was Ernesto Silva's (2-2) last. He got the win tonight after tossing six innings of two hit, one run ball.

Ignacio Geronimo came in to pitch for Danville in the bottom of the seventh. After two quick outs sandwiched a single, a wild pitch followed. With two down and a runner on second, Geronimo struggled to get out of the seventh. The Astros hit two singles in a row followed by an Ariel Ovando walk. The first single scored Cristian Moronto who was on second. Joe Lucas came in for the rescue and walked a batter immediately, scoring one and making it 5-3. He was able to get Wierzbicki out on strikes to end the inning.
