
D-Braves pitching gem for naught

Danville, VA - The Elizabethton Twins defeated the Danville Braves 1-0 despite a strong pitching performance by the Braves pitching staff.
Asher Demme pitched six shutout innings only allowing three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Reliever Nick Tisone pitched the final three innings allowing the lone run of the game in the top of the eighth off of a triple and wild pitch for his first loss of the season.
Manny Rodriguez led the Danville offense going two for four while Jose Santos and Yohan Silva picked up the other two Braves hits.
Brian Duensing pitched seven strong innings to pick up his third win of the season and striking out nine Braves batters. Danny Powers picked up his fourth save of the year going two innings and allowing two hits and a walk.
The D-Braves go on the road for three games before returning home on August 18 for a three game series against the Princeton Devil Rays. Wednesday's home game is scheduled for 12:00 pm noon and is DARE day at the ballpark.
