Indians too much for Astros

GREENEVILLE, TN - The Greeneville Astros couldn't keep up with the Burlington Indians in a 15-8 loss. After a Josh Flores 2-run HR in the 3rd inning the Astros held a 4-0 lead, but then the Indians took over. They scored 6 runs in the 4th inning and never let the Astros regain the lead. Indians 1B Boodle Clark had a big game going 2-5 with 5 RBI including a grand slam (1). CF John Drennen also hit a HR (6) as he went 2-2 with 4 RBI. Starting pitcher Luis Valdez (W, 3-4) went 5.0 innings for the Indians, struck out 5 batters, and earned the win.

The Astros will travel to face the Bristol Sox over the weekend before going to Pulaski in the middle of next week. The next Astros home game will be on Friday August 19, 2005 when the league-leading Elizabethton Twins come to town. There will be Fireworks sponsored by Takoma Hospital after the game, and the Blues Brothers will be here to make up the game that was rained out on July 7th.

The Astros office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. It is located in the new administrative building adjacent to the front gate entrance.
