D-Braves hammer Blue Jays

Danville, VA - The Danville Braves bats returned in a big way on Monday night as they defeated the Pulaski Blue Jays 12-3.

Four Braves batters hit homeruns in the 10 run second inning. Jon-Mark Owings started the barrage with a three-run shot to left field. Derrick Arnold hit his first homerun on the season with a solo shot two batters later before Campbell added his seventh on the year with a three-run homerun. Manny Rodriguez finished the barrage three batters later with a three-run shot.

Jairo Cuevas pitched four innings for the Braves allowing three runs on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Relievers Drew Jackson and Bryan Johnson pitched the final five frames combining for four hits and five strikeouts.

Jacob Butler scored the three runs for Pulaski on a three run shot in the top of the third. Starter Joe Wice took the loss for the Blue Jays allowing 10 Danville runs on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts in one and two thirds innings. Blue Jays relievers Ezemir Reinoso, Rafeal Perez and Cory Hahn finished out the last six and a third innings allowing two runs on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Braves will take on the Pulaski Blue Jays for the final game of a three game set tomorrow night at 7:00 pm. Scout Night slated for Tomorrow where all scouts will receive admission to the game for a dollar if they are wearing their uniform.
