BROOKLYN, NY - Matt O'Neill singled home the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth as Brooklyn topped the BlueClaws 3-2 on Sunday at Maimonides Park, handing the BlueClaws their fifth walk-off defeat of the season.

The Cyclones (33-36) took five of six in the series from Jersey Shore (25-44), including the final three, to start the second half at 3-0.

O'Neill's hit in the ninth came off Aidan Anderson (1-3) and brought home Jose Peroza with the winning run. The BlueClaws had the bases loaded in the top of the ninth but Johan Rojas was thrown out at the plate by right fielder Joe Suozzi trying to score on a fly ball by Jared Carr. Baron Radcliff then struck out to end the inning.

Justin Courtney (4-2), who got into and out of trouble in the ninth, earned the win.

Brooklyn jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Nic Gaddis off Jersey Shore starter Kyle Glogoski. The Cyclones added a run in the fourth on a Glogoski wild pitch that allowed JT Schwartz to score.

Glogoski, a New Zealand native, came out after four innings, allowing two runs, one earned, with five strikeouts and no walks.

Jersey Shore tied the game with two runs in the top of the fifth. The first scored on a balk, bringing home Jared Carr from third with Carlos De La Cruz at the plate. Later in the same at bat, De La Cruz smoked an RBI double down the left field line to bring home Karl Ellison and level the score at two.

Cyclones starter Luis Moreno gave up two runs in 4.2 innings and did not factor in the decision.

Carlos De La Cruz had two hits in the loss.

Jersey Shore heads to Wilmington and, after a Monday off day, will open a six game series with the Blue Rocks. The BlueClaws return home on Monday, July 4th to start a six game series with Hudson Valley (Yankees).
