April 28, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones (44-25-3) of the ECHL will take on the Reading Royals (37-29-6) in the American Conference Finals, beginning Friday night (April 30) at U.S. Bank Arena. The series is a best-of-seven that will feature a two-three-two format. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate for the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators of the NHL. This is the third round of play in the USA Collision Centers playoff march to the Kelly Cup for the Cyclones.

The first two games will be played at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, April 30 at 7:30pm with a Donatos one dollar pizza slice special. That will be Game F for playoff ticket package holders. Saturday night, May 1-the second game of the series will be played in Cincinnati at 7:30pm. It will be a John Morrell one dollar hot dog special for fans. Playoff ticket package holders will use Game G tickets for admission.

Games three, four and five (if necessary) will be played at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA. Game three will take place on Tuesday, May 4. Game four will happen on Saturday, May 8. Both of these games will start at 7:05pm. They will both be carried locally on ESPN 1530. Game five, if needed, would again be played at Reading on Sunday, May 9 with a 7:05pm start time. That game would also be carried on ESPN 1530.

Should games six and/or seven be necessary, they would be played at U.S. Bank Arena. Game six would happen on Tuesday, May 11 at 7:30pm, with playoff ticket package holders needing Game H of their package for admission. It would be a Big Beer Tuesday with 24 ounce Molson, Molson Ice and Labatts being on sale for two dollars. Game seven would be the next night (Wednesday, May 12) at 7:30pm. Playoff ticket package holders would need Game J tickets (there are no Game I tickets in their packages). It would be a Wet Wednesday promotion with one dollar twelve ounce Miller High Life and Pabst Blue Ribbon beers.

The fifth-seeded Cyclones secured the berth in the American Conference Finals after defeating regular season conference champion Charlotte in seven games tonight. Reading, the seventh-seed in the conference, swept Florida in four games in its semifinal series and has not played since April 20. The Royals have not lost a postseason game in regulation time and are 7-0-2.

This will be the second time that Cincinnati and Reading have met in the postseason. During the 2008 Kelly Cup championship run, the Royals provided a stern opposition-forcing seven games before being eliminated. This season, the Cyclones won two of the three meetings between the clubs and Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber has a 20-8-4 record in his career against Reading. It is the third straight season that Cincinnati has advanced to the conference finals, marking only the third time in ECHL history that a team has advanced to the league's semifinal round in a trio of consecutive campaigns. Greensboro (1989-90-91) and Alaska (2004-05-06) are the others.

The complete schedule of games is as follows:
