SCOUTING THE GLADIATORS: John Wroblewski's club evened the series with a 3-0 victory in Game 2 this past Sunday. Five different players have notched two points for the Gladiators in the series, with Domenic Monardo scoring goals in each. And although he's been held to just one assist this series, Ryan Ginand is the team leader of offense - posting eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) in six postseason games. Gwinnett's power play continues to be a major asset in these playoffs; so far, they have converted on 7 of the 21 man advantage chances - the best unit in the ECHL. Between the pipes, Louis Domingue has been their workhorse, with a 5-1 record thus far. His 1.50 goals-against average ranks fourth among all playoff goalies while his two shutouts are tied for the most in the league.
A Tenacious Trio: The Cyclones have found some great success from David Pacan, Mike Embach, and Trevor Lewis during these playoffs. While spending most of the time on the same line, the three Cincinnati forwards have each notched eight points in as many games. Their totals are tied for fourth among all ECHL postseason players.
A Hero Returns: The Cyclones received a major offensive boost this week with the return of forward Josh Shalla. The rookie was among Cincinnati's top point producers this season, notching 28 points in 37 games. Of those tallies, he collected a team-high seven game-winning goals.
Saving the Best For Last: Cincinnati's postseason offensive tendencies have held true to the regular season statistics. The bulk of its offense has come in the third period; they are outscoring opponents 12-10 in the final stanza and 18-13 in the final two regulation periods.
