
Gladiators Drop Game 3, 5-0

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Gwinnett dropped Game 3 of its Eastern Conference Semifinal series with the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-0 Wednesday night at US Bank Arena.
The win gives Cyclones a 2-1 series lead, with Game 4 set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. EST in Cincinnati.
After a quiet, scoreless opening 20 minutes Cincinnati struck for three goals in the second. John McFarland went coast-to-coast and beat Louis Domingue with a wrister from the slot at 2:49 on the power play to make it 1-0. Another power play goal by Mathieu Aubin made it 2-0 at 14:11, and McFarland's second of the night at 16:01 pushed the Cyclones lead to three.
Cincinnati added two more in the third. Michael Pelech scored 6:22 into the period to chase Domingue, and Pacan finished a two-on-one at 12:24 to wrap the scoring.
Gwinnett was outshot 39-23, and by a 31-16 margin over the final two periods. The shutout was the first of Michael Houser's pro career between the pipes for the Cyclones. Cincinnati finished the night 2-for-4 on the power play, while holding Gwinnett to an 0-for-8 mark.
