Cutthroats Freeze the Chill

St. Charles - The St. Charles Chill hosted the Denver Cutthroats on Wednesday, January 8 at Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The Cutthroats came from behind to defeat the Chill 4-3 in overtime.

St. Charles Kyle OKane (Nicklas Lindberg) scored the first goal of the night to give the Chill a 1-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of play.

Early in the second period, Jordan Fox (Lindberg) scored the Chill's second goal to take

2-0 lead. Denver's Garett Bembridge (Troy Schwab, Aaron MacKenzie) fired a top shelf shot for the Cutthroats first goal of the night.

Twenty seconds into the third, Troy Schwab (Steve Kaunisto, Dan Barczuk) tied the score 2-2. John Snowden (Robert Moss) responded with the Chill's third netted puck. Garett Bembridge (Schwab) scored his 27th goal of the 2013-14 season to tie the score at 3 and send the game into overtime.

Denver Cutthroats Team Captain Aaron MacKenzie (T.J. Fox) scored the game-winning goal to defeat the St. Charles Chill 4-3. Wednesday night's victory improves the Cutthroats record to 17-9-6.

The Denver Cutthroats will head to Allen, Texas to take on the Allen Americans for a two-game weekend series at Allen Event Center on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11. The Cutthroats will return home for the second series of games in the Colorado Tour at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail, Colorado on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.
