Cutters Release '07 Schedule

New Haven County Cutters News Release


WEST HAVEN, CT - The New Haven County Cutters released their 2007 schedule and announced that their fourth season is slated to begin May 25th on the road at Brockton.

The Can-Am League's 94-game regular season will play through early September with the Cutters wrapping up their '07 campaign at home on Labor Day (Sept. 3rd).

Historic Yale Field will host all 52 Cutters' home games in 2007 (six more than last year) with opening night set for Thursday, May 31, versus the Rox. Seven of the Cutters' first 10 games are against the Rox, who knocked the Cutters out of the playoffs last season.

The early part of the schedule has the Cutters on the road in 18 of the team's first 24 games.

The Cutters balance out their schedule beginning June 19th when they play a string of 24 of 30 contests in West Haven including a July 4th home date.

The team's longest home stand runs from July 11-22 when they play 11 games in 12 days, including on Father's Day (July 17).

The Cutters will face two new opponents in '07 as the Atlantic City Surf and the Grays have recently joined the Can-Am League.

The Surf (NJ), who jumped from the Atlantic League, and the Grays, a road team with no home park, expand the Can-Am League to 10 teams.

The Cutters finished the 2006 season with the league's second best overall record (53-38) and lost in the first round of the playoffs for the second straight year.
