Cutters Come Up Short

Williamsport took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but failed to add on to their total the rest of the way, falling 3-2 to Hudson Valley to open the three-game series.

Manuel Silva threw 5 good innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five in a no decision. Rafael Carvajal took the loss, allowing one run on three hits over 2.1 innings of work. Keylan Killgore worked 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out two.

Madison Stokes finished the night 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles. Jesse Wilkening and Keudy Bocio recorded the Cutters RBI, on back-to-back singles in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Bocio finished the night with two hits.

Brayan Gonzalez went 0-4 with four strikeouts, giving him 50 strikeouts in 107 at bats this year. Matt Kroon went down on strikes three times as the Cutters struck out 10 times as a whole in the loss, giving them 42 over their last four games.

Williamsport falls to 8-12 at home this season with the loss and they fall to 5-5 against non-Pinckney division opponents on the season.
