Cusson Cup Announced in Memory of Al Cusson

This week, prior to the kick-off of Training Camp, General Manager Jim Hulton announced details for the first-ever Cusson Memorial Cup. The best-of-three series will see Team Black versus Team White play three intrasquad games at the Pownal Sportsplex as part of the first-week training camp schedule.

The series will be in honor of former Head Scout Al Cusson who passed away suddenly in 2022. Cusson spent 10 seasons in various roles with the Islanders scouting staff.

"Al was a valued member of our staff, a valued member of the scouting fraternity who will be missed and remembered by all" commented Hulton. "He was Islanders through and through and loved this team with a passion and dedication that was unmatched. By introducing the Cusson Memorial Cup, we will keep his memory alive."

Both Team Black & White will feature an all-star coaching staff made up of former alumni Nikita Alexandrov, Lukas Cormier, Keiran Gallant, and Ross Johnston.

All games as part of the Cusson Memorial Cup are free to attend.
