(ALTOONA, PA) -- Since winning its first five games at home this season, the Altoona Curve suddenly can't buy a victory at Blair County Ballpark.

Erie (18-15) lengthened Altoona's home losing streak to seven by handing the Curve a 3-2, 11-inning loss Saturday before 7,151 fans--the largest crowd of the season at BCB.

The SeaWolves plated the game-winning run in the top of the 11th thanks to some shoddy defense by Altoona (17-16). Noochie Varner opened the inning with a single and moved to second on an errant pick-off attempt by Neal McDade (0-3).

Leo Daigle followed with a routine grounder to short, but Jose Castillo sailed his throw over the head of first baseman Ray Navarrete. The error allowed Varner to score the deciding tally.

Homero Rivera (5-0) pitched two scoreless innings for his Eastern League-leading fifth win. Brian Schmack retired the Curve in order in the bottom of the 11th for his ninth save--a total that also leads the circuit.

Just like Friday night's game, Altoona forced extra innings by rallying from a 2-0 deficit. Chris Heintz, who went 4-for-5 to lead the Curve's 13-hit output, singled home the first run with two out in the bottom of the sixth.

Navarrete evened the score in the eighth with a two-out RBI single to plate pinch-runner Chris Duffy.

Chan Perry had three hits while Navarrete and Kevin Nicholson each had a pair for Altoona. Jack Hannahan led Erie's offense with two hits--including a double--and a run scored.

The Curve will try to salvage the final game of the series Sunday at 3:05 p.m. with right-hander Landon Jacobsen (4-1, 1.27) taking on the SeaWolves and right-hander Jeff Farnsworth (2-3, 3.99).
