Curve Announces Price Reductions For Groups, Picnics

ALTOONA, Pa - On January 14, the Curve made the unprecedented announcement that they were lowering single-game and season ticket prices for the 2009 season. Less than a month later, the second phase of the "curve Family Values" initiative - which will make group outings, picnics, half-season packages and flex books even more affordable - has been unveiled.
For example, as seen in the chart below, half-season ticket packages in the Rail Kings, Diamond Club, Grandstand and UPMC Health Plan Outfield Reserve Seats, will see significant savings when compared to 2008 pricing.

There are also reductions in the Curve's picnic pricing. All kid's ticket prices will be lowered from last year's mark while the adult price will remain locked in for the entire season at last year's "low price." For instance, in 2008, pricing increased for the months of June through September. In 2009, picnic prices on adult tickets will remain one, low price all year long.

The biggest benefit will come to groups that enjoy the Blair County Ballpark experience with a large number of people. For example, if a group of 50 (40 adults and 10 kids) want to enjoy a Curve game in the third base U.S. Food Service Picnic Pavilion in June; they will save a total of $140 on their picnic under the new price structure.
All told, there are 44 total reductions in different, supplementary ticketing packages that the Curve offer.
"It's really refreshing to see the great chain reaction that our Curve Family Values initiative of lowering ticket prices has set off," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "In less than a month, we've already received tremendous feedback from our loyal fan base and we're seeing more people take advantage of the lower prices."
Fans that had previously reserved ticket packages or outings at the ballpark prior to the announcement of the price reductions will see the proper adjustments made. Those who have paid in full for their ticket package or event will be reimbursed the difference by the team. Those who have payment plans with the team will receive notification of their adjusted balance due.
The Curve are primed for their home opener at Blair County Ballpark, which is only 64 days away. On April 16 at 6:35 p.m., the Curve will welcome in the Erie SeaWolves (AA - Detroit Tigers) to raise the curtain on their 71-game home calendar. Fans interested in taking advantage of the new, lower ticket packages can do so by calling 877-99-CURVE or stopping by the Blair County Ballpark front office during normal business hours.
