Curt Malawsky Named NLL Hall of Fame Finalist

Calgary, AB - The National Lacrosse League announced today that former player and current Calgary Roughnecks Assistant GM and Associate Coach Curt Malawsky has been selected as one of six eligible finalists for the NLL Hall of Fame Class of 2012.

Malawsky, named Assistant GM and Associate Coach during the summer of 2009, just completed his third year behind the Roughnecks bench. Prior to taking on a coaching role, Malawsky played two of his 12 NLL seasons in Calgary from 2008-09. The Sault Ste. Marie product recorded 46 goals and 42 assists for 88 points and collected 99 loose balls over 31 games with the Roughnecks. In 2009, Malawsky won his first Champion's Cup with Calgary where he tallied three goals and added one assist in three playoff contests.

Pat Coyle, Steve Dietrich, Chris Driscoll, Regy Thorpe and the 1993 Buffalo Bandits team join Malawsky on the Hall of Fame ballot. The 2012 inductee(s) will be announced next week.
