Daytona Tortugas News Release
The Daytona Cubs vs. the Brevard County Manatees game scheduled for Wednesday, June 13th at 6:35p.m. has been suspended due to weather with Brevard County leading 3-1. As the third inning concluded, a black wall cloud moved overhead and brought with it extremely strong winds and, eventually, heavy rain and thunderstorms. The game will resume with first pitch in the top of the fourth inning scheduled for 5:35p.m. on Thursday, June 14th at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The two teams will conclude the nine inning game, then play a seven inning game one half hour after the conclusion of game one.
The Manatees took a 1-0 lead behind RHP Andy Moye in the first inning when 3B Mike Walker singled with LF T.J. Mittelstaedt on first, and after CF John Andreoli misplayed the ball in center field, Mittelstaedt came all-the-way around from first to score. Daytona tied the game at 1-1 behind RHP Rob Whitenack in the third inning. C Micah Gibbs walked to lead off the inning, then Andreoli reached on a throwing error by Walker which allowed Gibbs to score. In the bottom of the third, Mittelstaedt smacked an opposite-field two-run homerun to give the 'Tees a 3-1 lead.
Due up for the Cubs in the top of the fourth inning:
1. 2B Rubi Silva
2. RF Elieser Bonne
3. 1B Richard Jones
