JUPITER, FL- Daytona players with the name "Spear" in their last name, spearheaded the Cubs to a 4-3 extra-innings victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium.

First it was Nate Spears in the top of the ninth, battling Palm Beach (37-31) closer Mike Sillman pitch-after-pitch, until finally doubling to left-center, bringing in pinch-runner Andy Lane and tying things at 3-3.

Daytona (35-33) third baseman Jemel Spearman knocked in the game's final run, off of reliever Dennis Dove (1-2), scoring Jeff Culpepper on an RBI single to right-center. Both players finished the game 3-for-4.
