Norwich, CT - The Connecticut Tigers next homestand begins on Sunday, June, 23 against the Tri-City ValleyCats at 4:05 p.m. Sunday marks the beginning of the "Hometown Heroes" Bobblehead Series with the first 1,000 fans receiving a bobblehead of former NFA football star and current Arizona Cardinals DE Matt Shaughnessy courtesy of Savings Institute Bank & Trust. Fans are also invited to come meet Shaughnessy, who will be signing autographs from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. on the concourse! Gates open at 3:00 p.m. Bobbleheads will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and are one per person.
Sunday's game is also the first "Sunday Funday" of the 2013 season, featuring "Kids Run the Bases" presented by Ben & Jerry's and "Have a Catch" presented by ROXY FM 100.9 and Falvey's Motors.
The Tigers head to Vermont for a three game series with the Lake Monsters Thursday Night at 7:05 p.m. In the first game of the series Connecticut LHP Joe Mantiply starts opposite LHP Jose Torres for the Lake Monsters.
