C's lose another close home game, downed 3-2

VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canadians lost another heart breaker at Nat Bailey Stadium 3-2 on Monday night. The difference in the game was an unearned run in the second inning, scored on an error by Jose Garcia. The C's pitching staff did a fantastic job, with Joey Newby getting the start. Newby went six innings, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out three. Joey Piekarz pitched the final three innings, allowing only one hit and striking out one.

The C's bats managed five hits, including three doubles. Justin Sellers hit his 7th of the year, Haas Pratt hit his 14th and Anthony Recker hit his 7th, as well. The C's scored one run in the 6th and another in the 7th, but couldn't get any closer.

The Vancouver Canadians head out on to an important road trip at Everett for the next three games. The C's return to Vancouver for the final home stand of the year on Friday.
