Crush's McKenzie named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week

Denver, Colo. - Colorado Crush wide receiver/defensive back Kevin McKenzie has been named the Arena Football League's U.S. Army Ironman of the Week for Week 10 of the 2004 season, it was announced today.

McKenzie (5-11, 183, Washington State), in his third AFL season and first with the Crush, led the Colorado Crush (7-3) on both sides of the ball during their 57-55 victory over the Los Angeles Avengers (5-4) on Saturday. McKenzie, who has been selected Ironman of the Game in six of the 10 Crush contests, had four receptions for 65 yards and three touchdowns on offense, while making four solo tackles and two assists on the defensive end.

With the victory, the Crush improved their record to 7-3 on the season and are tied for the most victories in the league.

This marks the second time this season and third time in his career that the former Cougar has earned an AFL weekly honor. McKenzie was also named the AFL's Ironman of the Week for Week Two.

The U.S. Army Ironman of the Week honors the best player who participates on both offense and defense for his team.

The Crush travel to face the New York Dragons at the Nassau Coliseum on Sunday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. MDT. The game will be televised by NBC and broadcast by AM 760 The Zone and online at www.760thezone.com/listen .
