Stockton Ports News Release

The Stockton Ports bats exploded on Tuesday evening as the Ports defeated the Modesto Nuts 17-4 in a game that included three Ports doubles, triples and home runs and a hit for cycle by Conner Crumbliss.

Crumbliss went 4-for-6 on the evening with three runs scored and two RBIs. He hit a single in the first, a ground rule double in the third, a home run in the fourth and a triple in the seventh. Crumbliss is the second 2011 Port to hit for the cycle this season, when Kent Walton hit for the cycle in April. Mitch LeVier also exploded offensively, hitting a home run shy of the cycle. Myrio Richard was 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs on the evening.

Michael Choice hit the remaining double, while Coleman accounted for the remaining triple and Michael Gilmartin accounted for the third home run of the evening. The Ports extend their playoff lead to 2.0 games over Modesto in the California League mini-series race.

The Ports look to extend their lead over the Nuts tomorrow as Rob Gilliam faces off against Dan Perkins at 7:05 p.m.
