Crown Legacy FC Sign Defender João Pedro on Loan from Brazilian Club Atletico Paranaense

Charlotte, NC - Crown Legacy FC today announced the Club has signed defender João Pedro on loan from first division Brazilian Club Atletico Paranaense.

Crown Legacy FC retains an option for a permanent transfer following the 2023 season.

"João is a strong defender with great potential," said Crown Legacy Head Coach Jose Tavares. "We're excited to add a player who has represented Brazil at the youth international level, which is no easy feat. He'll be a fantastic addition to the Club and we're thrilled to work his João to continue his development as a young footballer."

Pedro, 19, rose through Atletico's youth ranks before earning a professional contract with the Brazilian club. Most recently, Pedro played with Atletico Paranaense's U-20 squad, tallying 12 appearances and 984 minutes. While primarily a center back, Pedro can also feature on the left side of the backline.

Pedro has also featured in Brazil's international ranks, most recently representing the South American nation at the U-20 level in 4-0 victory over a United States squad featuring MLS players making impacts at their current clubs.
