Crowe to Start Blowfish Home Opener

May 30, 2016 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Lexington County Blowfish News Release

LEXINGTON, S.C. - After missing the entire 2016 season for the South Carolina Gamecocks due to Tommy John surgery, pitcher Wil Crowe will make his first start since 2015 on the home opener for the Lexington County Blowfish.

The 2014 Freshman All-American will take to the bump for the first time since an elbow injury that sidelined the Sevierville, Tennessee native.

With the Gamecocks, Crowe has posted an 11-7 record over 24 starts and boasts a 3.52 ERA over the past two seasons.  Crowe was electric in 2014, earning Freshman All-American honors after pitching to an 8-3 record and 2.75 ERA.

Crowe was named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team following his four-hit complete game shutout where he struck out four Campbell Camels en route to a 9-0 win in 2014.

2015 came to a screeching halt for Crowe after the right-hander tore his ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow following his start against Florida.  Wednesday night will be the pitcher's return to competitive action.

The Blowfish's home opener is on Wednesday, June 1st against in-state rival Florence.  First pitch will be at 7:05.  To purchase tickets visit Blowfish on Main at 101 East Main Street in Lexington or call 803-254-3474.
