Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - Colorado Mammoth forward Tyler Crompton has been named NLL Rookie of the Week. Crompton not only hustled to three loose balls in Colorado's win over undefeated Calgary last Saturday night, but scored two goal (his 2nd and 3rd of the season). In just four games this season, Crompton is 16-27 in face offs, including 3-6 in Saturday's win.

"Tyler has been working extremely hard so far this season and it's paying off for him," said Mammoth General Manager Steve Govett. "His toughness, enthusiasm and hustle have been invaluable for our team. It's nice to see him get some recognition for that."

Crompton's honor marks the second time in three weeks that a Mammoth player has been named Rookie of the Week in the NLL. Fellow forward, Matt Danowski, won the award on February 4. Govett likes the mix of youth and veteran talent on his squad. "We do have very solid veteran leadership and experience in the locker room, but the new and young guys getting familiar with our system and surroundings are what have gotten us on track over the last few weeks."

The Mammoth is on the road this weekend - at San Jose on Saturday, February 21st and at Edmonton on Sunday, February 22nd - before returning to host the league's All-Star Weekend on March 6th and 7th at Pepsi Center. The next home game for Colorado is Sunday, March 22 when the Minnesota Swarm visits Pepsi Center for a 6pm contest.
