Crew Match At D.C. Is Second Game Of Big Televised Soccer Doubleheader This Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Crew and heated rival D.C. United meet this Sunday, May 12, at 4:30 p.m., for the second time in just over two weeks, this time at Washington's RFK Stadium, in the second game of a doubleheader that features the U.S. National Team vs. fellow World Cup-qualifier Uruguay in a World Cup warm-up at 2 p.m.

Sunday's game will be televised live locally on WTTE FOX-28, with Dwight Burgess and Bill McDermott calling all the action. It can also be heard live on Eagle 103.9, across the state on the Crew Radio Network and around the globe on TheCrew.com, with the Jim Henderson behind the radio microphone. Columbus topped United, 1-0, at Crew Stadium on April 27. The Crew will rendez vous with teammate Brian McBride, who will be at RFK for the first game of the doubleheader as the U.S. National Team continues to prepare for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, which begins in Korea/Japan on May 31.

The Crew is currently 2-4-0 (6 pts.) and tied for fourth place with D.C. (2-5-0, 6 pts.), with a game in hand. United is coming off a 3-0 loss to Chicago over weekend. CREW at D.C. United * Sunday, May 12 - 4:30 p.m. (ET)

Crew to take on Dayton Gemini at Wright State Wednesday

The Crew will prepare for Sunday's league match at D.C. by playing an exhibition match against the Dayton Gemini of the USL Premier Development League at Wright State University. Game time is 8 p.m. Crew head coach Greg Andrulis was the head coach at Wright State from 1985-96.
