
Coyotes Survive Comeback

EDINBURG, TX-The Edinburg Coyotes were able to hang on from a late inning surge by the Amarillo Dillas as a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eleventh inning propelled them to an 11-8 victory Sunday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Coyotes not only take the three-game series over the Dillas but sling to first place in the United League after the Alexandria Aces lost to the San Angelo Colts.
For the third consecutive game, the Coyotes were able to draw first blood against the Dillas as they jumped to an early lead in the bottom of the first after Daryl Jones stole home.
Coyotes took a commanding lead in the second inning after they were able to put up four runs off of three hits and take a five run lead.
The Dillas answered back in the top of the fourth as they were able to put up four runs of their own. The Dillas racked in four hits and shrunk the lead to one.
The Coyote's offense struck again in the bottom of the fourth as they gained two runs after Jones belted one over the left field fence bringing in Nick Aranda. The home run gives Jones his second of the season and gives his team a three run advantage.
Both the Dillas and the Coyotes scored in the fifth inning but the Dillas were able to put up two more runs in the eighth inning as Stephen Douglas and Justin Wenger came into score off a double by Josh Ashton.
Danny Bravo hit a home run single in the top of the ninth to even the score at eight.
The game went into extra innings but Logan Wood saved his team from defeat after he hit a walk off home run over the 400 foot center field wall in the bottom of the eleventh.
The Coyotes will have a the day off tomorrow but will travel for the first time of the season as they take on the Harlingen Whitewings on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
