Coyotes Suffer Third Straight Loss

EDINBURG, Texas- The Edinburg Coyotes (14-24) have lost three straight games after falling to the Alexandria Aces (20-17) 3-2 Saturday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

The Coyotes played great defense as starting pitcher Clint Smith (0-1) went four innings allowing two runs off of seven hits but still picked up his first loss of the season. Aces' pitcher Alexis Sosa (4-2) pitched a complete game allowing two runs off of seven hits.

The Aces struck first in the third inning after Palmer Karr hit an RBI single to left field that scored Patrick O' Sullivan from third to give them a 1-0 advantage.

The Aces struck again in the fourth when Albert Gonzalez scored off an RBI single from Luis Guance giving them a 2-0 lead.

In the fifth, Coyotes cut the lead in half after Alex Entrikin came into score off a ground out by Angelo Fermin making the score 2-1.

Aces notched another run in the sixth when Selwyn Langaigne hit an RBI single to center that scored Bryan Sabatella from third.

The Coyotes answered in the bottom of the frame after Daryl Jones scored off a sacrifice fly from Amado German to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Coyotes take on the Aces in Game 3 of their three-game series tomorrow night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. First pitch is at 7:05. It is Baptist Temple "Buyout Night" meaning free admission for everyone.
