
Coyotes Recall Hill and Mermis; Assign Bunting to Tucson

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have recalled goaltender Adin Hill and defenseman Dakota Mermis from the Tucson Roadrunners, the Coyotes American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. The Coyotes have also assigned forward Michael Bunting to Tucson.
The 22-year-old Hill has registered a 7-5-0 record with a 2.76 goals against average (GAA) and a .901 save percentage (SV%) with a shutout in 13 games with the Coyotes this season. The rookie netminder also earned the NHL's Second Star of the Week for the week of Nov. 26- Dec. 2. Hill has also posted a 6-5-1 record with a 2.59 GAA and a .904 SV% with two shutouts in 13 games with the Roadrunners in 2018-19.
Last year, the 6-foot-4, 203-pound native of Comox, BC posted a 1-3-0 record with a .891 SV% and a 3.49 GAA in four games with the Coyotes. He also went 19-11-4 with a .914 SV% and a 2.28 GAA with five shutouts in 36 games with the Roadrunners.
Hill was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the third round (76th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
The 25-year-old Mermis has played in one game with the Coyotes this season and has appeared in 10 career NHL games with Arizona. Mermis has registered 1-11-12 and 33 PIM in 36 games with the Roadrunners this season.
The 5-foot-11, 196-pound native of Alton, Illinois has recorded 8-48-56 and 211 PIM in 225 career AHL games with Tucson and Springfield.
In 2018-19, the 23-year-old Bunting has scored a goal in four games with the Coyotes and has registered 11-15-26 and 36 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Roadrunners.
