
Coyotes lose sixth straight

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana- The Edinburg Coyotes' struggles continued as they lose their sixth game in a row 9-1 to the Alexandria Aces. With the loss the Coyotes now fall to 8-14 on the year. John Maschino got his first loss of the year with four and a third innings pitched allowing seven runs on five hits and striking out seven.
The Aces starter, Alexis Sosa, went seven innings allowing one run on six hits and striking out 14 Coyotes earning his third win of the season.
The Aces started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Selwyn Langaigne hit a two run home run to right field to give the Aces a 2-0 lead.
The Aces offense struck again in the bottom of the fifth inning as they sent nine hitters to the plate. Albert Gonzalez started the inning with a walk and later came around to score on a wild pitch by Maschino to take the score to 3-0. After two walks by Maschino, Palmer Karr Jr. hit a three run home run to right field to take the lead 6-0. Luis Guance followed the three run shot with a solo shot of his own to take the score to 7-0. The Coyotes got their only run of the night in the sixth inning when Logan Wood scored on an RBI single by Eric Gonzalez to put the score at 7-1.
The Aces added two more runs in the bottom half of the sixth after Gonzalez scored on a wild pitch by Clint Smith to take the score to 8-1. The second run of the inning came off of an RBI double by Karr Jr. to deep left field that scored Langaigne from first base and the Aces had a 9-1 lead after six innings of play. The Coyotes and Aces will play the final game of the series Saturday night at Bringhurst Field with the first pitch scheduled at 7:05 p.m. Aaron Guerra will be on the mound for the Coyotes as the Aces send Angel Guzman to the hill.
