Edinburg Roadrunners News Release
Edinburg, TX- The Edinburg Coyotes will put their skill and endurance to the test as they take on the University of Tamaulipas Buffalos in an exhibition game on Saturday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
With the season around the corner, the Coyotes will sharpen up their game by taking on the defending state champions of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The Buffalos have won five consecutive state championships and are ranked No. 4 in the nation.
Although the Coyotes defeated the Buffalos last year 6-1, Assistant General Manager Omar Ortiz believes that the team should not take them lightly and the tune-up will be a great learning experience before the season starts.
"The team is not going to go all out and risk injury but the competitive nature will surely be there on Saturday," Ortiz said. "This is a great opportunity to work out the kinks but we're playing to win."
The game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be open to the public. Opening day for the Coyotes will be on May 13 at the 10:35 a.m.
