Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

After a 17 game winning streak the Coyotes were not about to start a losing streak. Pitcher Neomar Flores and the powerful Coyotes offence made sure of that. With a 9-6 win over the Alexandria Aces, the Coyotes start their second winning streak.

They Coyotes got on the board early with a four spot in the bottom of the fourth inning, Three of those runs coming off of a 3-run Home Run by catcher Robinson Cancel. The Aces would answer back in the top of the second when Neomar Flores lost his control and gave up 5 runs.

Edinburg would tie the game in the bottom of the second off of a Grijalva double, only to loose the lead in the top of the third. The lead would not hold for long, as the Coyotes would tie the game again in the bottom of the third off another Cancel home run.

The Coyotes would take the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth and then add an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to secure their 18th win.

Wednesday the Coyotes send Bric Steed to the hill to face Alexandria's Donnie Bridges.

The Edinburg Coyotes are part of United League Baseball, an independent league of six professional baseball teams located in Texas and Louisiana. The United League is in its inaugural season this summer with teams located in Amarillo, Edinburg, Laredo, Harlingen, and San Angelo, Texas; and Alexandria, Louisiana.
