Columbus Catfish News Release
Columbus, GA - The Columbus Catfish (8-8) were shutout 9-0 by the Augusta GreenJackets (14-2) Friday at Golden Park.
The Columbus offense never got off the ground. GreenJackets RHP Adam Cowart (4-0) threw the first seven innings and gave up just five hits to earn the win. RHP Thomas King finished the last two innings and allowed just one hit. Neither Augusta pitcher allowed a walk.
Three Catfish pitchers allowed three runs apiece. Starter LHP Ryan Owen (1-1) went three innings and took the loss. RHP Wilton Noel followed for four innings. RHP Matt Falk pitched the last two frames.
C Dayton Buller had a field day for Augusta. He went 3-for-4 with one run, five RBI, two doubles and one home run. 1B Brett Pill was 3-for-4 with three runs, one RBI and one double.
For the Catfish 3B Cesar Suarez, 2-for-4, was the only batter with multiple hits.
