Morrisville, NC (Feb. 21, 2003) - The defending WUSA Champion Carolina Courage waived veteran defender Staci Wilson and Finnish striker Minna Mustonen today. The Courage also announced the retirement of goalkeeper Emily Oleksiuk and midfielder Meghan Anderson.
Wilson, acquired by the Courage in the 13th round (102nd overall) of the Inaugural WUSA Draft, played in 14 games in 2001 and 14 games in 2002. Mustonen, the New York Power's first round draft pick in 2002, was acquired by the Courage in a trade for Kim Yankowski-Montgomery on December 13 of last year. Mustonen played in 12 games for New York, scoring one goal and recording two assists. Wilson and Mustonen will be placed into a pool of players for Monday's league-wide waiver draft.

Anderson, Carolina's fourth pick (20th overall) in 2002, played in 16 matches in 2002, starting four. She recently accepted a position as the assistant women's soccer coach at Southeastern Louisiana.
