Kalamazoo Wings News Release

This afternoon is the second to last regular season encounter between the archrival Kalamazoo Wings and Fort Wayne Komets. Kalamazoo leads the season series against Fort Wayne with a record of 4-3-1; however, the K-Wings are winless (0-2-1) in their last three meetings against the Komets.

Snapping a five-game winless streak last night with a 3-0 victory over Port Huron, Kalamazoo is looking to narrow the gap in the United Hockey League standings. The K-Wings start the day five points behind the Komets for second in the league and one point behind the idle Rockford IceHogs for third place.

After watching their UHL franchise record nine-game winning streak come screeching to a halt last night in Bloomington, Fort Wayne is more than ready to start a new streak today. This afternoon is the second leg of a four-game road swing for the Komets, who lead the IceHogs by six points for the top spot in the west.
